Topic: HL7.de Errors in Downloaded File

Maybe somebody at HL7.de will see this message. When going to http://download.hl7.de/documents/ucum/ucumdata.html and downloading the TSV version of "Commonly Used UCUM Codes", that downloaded file contains errors in the units. For example, the UCUM code meq/L has a display string of meg/L associated with it. Also, sometimes mL gets changed to mm^3 or cc – which is technically correct but may be unexpected.

@Simone Heckmann can you refer this please?

That page says it got the data from CDC's PHIN-VADS, but I'm unable to get the original file. Guess I'll have to try harder.

I think the FHIR list of common UCUM units is better than the LOINC list. ;-)

view this post on Zulip Pascal Pfiffner (Feb 23 2018 at 21:36):

Both the list from UCUM and FHIR include "display names", but not nice displayable unit labels (like mmHg for mm[Hg]).
Also fun that a list named "Common UCUM Units" from LOINC contains stuff like "short ton U.S. ton". I wonder what lab value uses that unit. :D
