@Swapna Abhyankar -- Can you comment on this JIRA, as it seems to be one of your main points: https://jira.hl7.org/browse/FHIR-19831

The comments on the JIRA article lead to a consensus that for the Diagnostic Report using the category 'GE' is sufficient for interoperable identification of a Genetics Diagnostic Report, and that the Diagnostic Report.code does not need the requirement for LOINC 81247-9. @Swapna Abhyankar echoing Kevn's comments on the JIRA and this thread. Looking forward to your comments!

I commented in the JIRA ticket. Do I need to duplicate here?

No, but thanks for the update. I think updating/discussing the issue in Jira is good to keep the history of an issue. Announcing the update here is also good, as otherwise most of us might miss the update

I'll volunteer (if Kevin or someone else does not beat me to it) to summarize the conclusion once the group has voted. To me seems like Kevin uncovered that if we remove the specific binding we might need another action item (JIRA) for a solution for a value set. Personally I would like to ask LOINC to be the co-owner as I suspect they'll be in a position to better maintain a list? but i'm getting off topic.

After the meeting today, I have proposed a resolution on the JIRA - please review and comment if you disagree.
