Hi all, looking to gather more ideas and participation info for the upcoming Connectathon in this topic. We can also use it for coordinating leading up to and during the event.

Hello everybody, I'm going to the Connectathon in Atlanta. Where can I find information about the planned topics?

https://confluence.hl7.org/display/FHIR/Connectathons is the main page, the CG specific track is https://confluence.hl7.org/display/FHIR/2019-09+Clinical+Genomics+Track

We are at table 14, front and center for anyone looking for the CG table

The 2 tables next to us are mCode as well, with many people interested in attending both

Connectathon Outcome: Remove Somatic Predictive Implication profile, note use of more generic Pharmacogenomics profiles. Tracker is from last year GF#16871

view this post on Zulip Kevin Power (Sep 14 2019 at 20:24):

Uhhh - should we vote on that?

view this post on Zulip Patrick Werner (Sep 14 2019 at 20:36):

Yes i think this would be good to vote on. The tracker resolved to defer Aug 21 2018.

Voting propably Q3/Q4 after the connectathon wrap up

Thanks for the reference to the tracker. Looks like we were waiting on a firmer proposal? From the tracker:

From Clem: my proposal is not ripe enough and could we defer discussion of the possible unification of somatic variant and pharamcogenomics to the next round?

Was such a proposal discussed today? (Bummed I’m not there btw)

view this post on Zulip Bret H (Sep 14 2019 at 21:01):

Yes. Several points raised. Other than the profile name containing a reference to oncology, the profile delivers the name of a medication and with a value set to indicate altered efficacy or adverse drug event as prediction. It will be discussed at Q3/Q4 as Patrick commented.

OK, makes sense. You are welcome to document all that on the tracker, and vote on it next week. My concern is any documentation that might need to be created to discuss how the profiles could / should be used in the two different use cases. Seems odd to use a PGx named profile when doing a somatic test, even if the data it is delivering is the same(ish). If I recall - I think we have more than a few trackers in this space, and it is likely we just need to evaluate most of the impact profiles for overlap.
