Grahame Grieve (Apr 09 2019 at 06:12):
ok a question. I have a publication approval for a new unballoted updated release of QICore.
Grahame Grieve (Apr 09 2019 at 06:12):
the current release is STU 3 for v3.1.0 at (canonical)/STU3
Grahame Grieve (Apr 09 2019 at 06:12):
this will be STU 3.1 for v3.2.0 at (canonical)/STU31 ?

@Lloyd McKenzie @David Hay
Grahame Grieve (Apr 09 2019 at 06:14):
I am asking about the /STU31 bit - we haven't encountered this before so I don't have an established pattern to follow
Lloyd McKenzie (Apr 09 2019 at 15:00):
So they're just doing an STU update without going back to ballot? And they don't want to mark it as a new full release? That does get messy. My leaning would be to make it an STU 3.2. Reality is that there will be a degree of confusion whichever way we go, but 3.2 at least ensures consistency with the release number.

ok just published QICore. For those of you interested, I've invested significant amount of work in automating the publishing process. Documentation here:

Grahame Grieve (Sep 30 2020 at 06:24):
We continue to have problems with realms for IGs. We need a formal check list that we follow when we approve proposals for IGs, and for publication approvals.
Proposals for IGs:
- Check that the IG realm matches the Project realm
Requests to Approve publications
- recheck the realm
- check that the project sponsors have approved the publication request
note that I found a project today where the PSS and the project definition differed :-(, and where a co-chair of one of the sponsors claimed that the sponsor committee hadn't approved the publication request, though I read the record differently.
Anyhow, doing this is a big value proposition - we have a demonstrated ability to get this wrong consistently as a community
Anne Wizauer (Sep 30 2020 at 16:13):
Did the publication request go through the TSC already?
Grahame Grieve (Sep 30 2020 at 19:58):
yes
Grahame Grieve (Sep 30 2020 at 19:59):
and TSC didn't notice. But picking it up early is better than picking it up late
