Topic: Publication requests
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 19:44):
doing all this publication has reminded me that I need to get this organised. This is what I need to know when publishing IGs
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 19:44):
Requesting publication of an IG for the first time (must be done with first NIB):
- name
- github repository / simplifier project name
- code for IG
- realm
- 2 sentence description of purpose/scope of IG
- 1 paragraph description of purpose/scope of IG
- 1 paragraph about sponsors/involved parties for IG
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 19:45):
With NIB of re-ballot of an IG
- has name changed: - why? - new name:
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 19:47):
When providing content for publication - must send actual form with:
- agreed version (e.g. 0.2.0) of IG that is being published
- change notes (1 or more bullet points about what has changed)
and if have changed:
- 2 sentence description of purpose/scope of IG / 1 paragraph description of purpose/scope of IG
- 1 paragraph about sponsors/involved parties for IG
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 19:48):
I'm not sure what the best way to integrate this into the process is
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 20:11):
further, after several publication issues: I am no longer going to accept publication requests unless the IG is using the IG auto-publisher. Also, I have published 2 IGs from simplifier that raise a number of questions about publication quality criteria
Lloyd McKenzie (Dec 20 2017 at 20:53):
Will you be sharing the publication quality criteria questions raised?
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 20:53):
want to talk about those on the call
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 21:00):
One of the problems I've got with this ballot publication cycle is that at least one group of editors have been using the wrong IG publisher. They've been using the version available from here:
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 21:00):
https://www.hl7.org/fhir/downloads.html
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 21:00):
which refers to an old orphaned version of the IG publisher from before we decided to always use the trunk version
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 21:01):
I would like to replace the link there with a pointer to the current build of the IG publisher. Does FMG think I can just do that, or does it need to be a technical correction?
Grahame Grieve (Dec 20 2017 at 21:02):
policy issues: we've said before that I can fix broken external links without it being a technical correction - but this isn't quite the same thing
