Topic: Dealing with the 'use' attribute

In England we are beginning to look at how we transition from our HL7v3 CDA to FHIR CDA. One of the challenges we have is how to handle the 'use' attribute (found in HumanName, ContactPoint, Address etc)
.

HL7v3 has a fairly extensive valueset for "use" whereas FHIR has a comparatively small one (which is required and cannot be changed). A lot of the HL7v3 codes can be mapped to FHIR (in a lossy way) but some don't map at all. How are others dealing with this?

there's 2 ways teo deal with it - dopr the codes that aren't mapped because they're not needed, or create extensions. And, of course, in the second case, create tasks. which codes are you talking about?
