Topic: DAF and Argonaut
Richard Kavanagh (Apr 19 2016 at 06:34):
Hello all. In England we are exploring the potential and scope for an industry led FHIR initiative and as such we are naturally looking at the work in the US around DAF and Argonaut. I'm still unclear as to the relationship (if any) between these projects. If someone could point me in the direction of any links that will clarify that would be appreciated.
Michelle (Moseman) Miller (Apr 19 2016 at 13:30):
One possible way of articulating the relationship, as documented in the Argonaut implementation guide (http://argonautwiki.hl7.org/index.php?title=Implementation_Guide), is "The Argonaut data element query is based on the HL7 U.S. Data Access Framework (DAF) FHIR Implementation Guide. However, the Argonaut use case and requirements per resource are a subset of those of the DAF implementation guide". CC: @Brett Marquard

Thanks @Michelle (Moseman) Miller that's just what I needed.
Grahame Grieve (Apr 20 2016 at 08:08):
note though, that Argonaut is varying from DAF where implementation experience shows that we can't go as far as DAF did, or where we find we can go further. We are feeding these decisions back to DAF, and they are a primary - but not only - feedback to a future version

Can someone point me to the most current DAF profiles....stuff's moving around! ;)

Lloyd McKenzie (Jul 27 2016 at 16:18):
There's no automated build process for IGs right now, so that may be a bit out-of-date
Brett Marquard (Jul 27 2016 at 20:01):
If you have build downloaded - the source material is under guides/daf2. Update on HL7.org requires Grahame to give the build a hug.
Lloyd McKenzie (Jul 27 2016 at 20:57):
Is Grahame currently on that friendly a relationship with the build? :)
Grahame Grieve (Jul 28 2016 at 08:59):
it's a love hate relationship
