In the UK, this is one of the most common standards to transferring documents between providers (may not be supported in Scotland).
Its use is mainly from NHS providers to GP systems.
The methods of sending documents from any provider to provider doesn't seem to follow any standard but can expect HL7v2 MDM_T02 to feature.
I am willing to put forward a proposal which would be roughly similar to both Kettering and HL7v2 MDM_T02
So would roughly be a FHIR Message Bundle consisting of
- MessageHeader
- DocumentReference
- Patient
- Binary
