Stream: v2 to FHIR
Topic: Mapping of RDE, RAS, etc. medication-related messages?
John Silva (Jun 19 2018 at 20:00):
Will there be any discussion on mapping the HL7 V2.x medication-related messages like OMP, RDE, RAS, etc. to FHIR Medication resources?
Simone Heckmann (Jun 19 2018 at 21:47):
I haven't seen a lot of those V2 messages in production, so I'm not sure if anyone has done that yet. At least I didn't.

Anyone used Rhapsody to convert v2.5.1 to FHIR

I'm certain though, that these mappings still leave plenty of room for discussion... ;-)

Hi Simone, Apparently, the only thing that Rhapsody provides is a filter that converts xml to kason and vice versa. What did you use to convert from v2 to FHIR?
Simone Heckmann (Jun 20 2018 at 17:12):
We are working with Infor's Cloverleaf Integration Engine
John Silva (Jun 20 2018 at 17:35):
@Simone Heckmann - yes, these have some of the mappings needed but there is more needed at the data type level, e.g. Dosage, Timing, etc.; where a lot of the details about the meds are kept. (I entered a GF request to update the V2 mappings for these.( https://gforge.hl7.org/gf/project/fhir/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=17354 )
John Silva (Jun 24 2018 at 01:01):
@Simone Heckmann - On this thread I updated a spreadsheet that @Andrew Gledhill created with some HL7 V2.x mappings (my guesses): https://chat.fhir.org/#narrow/stream/4-implementers/subject/HL7.20FHIR.20Medication.20Request.20questions/near/160824
Sahitya Reddy (Jun 26 2018 at 15:01):
@Simone Heckmann - did you use any of the open source FHIR servers for your V2 to FHIR implemention? Or your own?
