Stream: v2 to FHIR
Topic: FHIR IG Mappings
David deRoode (Feb 01 2022 at 19:27):
Any thoughts on how to get all v2 segments (specifically PID, PV1, NK1, SPM) incorporated into the V2-to-FHIR mapping table (see Mappings tab): https://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/cancer-reporting/StructureDefinition-us-pathology-bundle-mappings.html?
Riki Merrick (Feb 01 2022 at 19:48):
Have you looked at the V2-FHIR project space - quite a bit of that has been
mapped I think - but if not, then we will need to get on their calendar and
move that forward.

David deRoode (Feb 01 2022 at 20:28):
We've looked at v2-to-fhir IG- looks like it was last generated 6 months ago though, so maybe there's a more recent build somewhere with more recent info: https://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/v2-to-fhir/index.html
I think the issue is rooted in the V2 to FHIR Mapping tables from a given profile page. I think the table is generated by the IG Publisher during an IG's build; it's the V2 . Not sure where/how the Publisher builds the table though.

I have no idea where that table comes from - I think it is something you
would have to fill out in one of the files you load - the newest mappings
are kept in the googlesheets - I don't know when Hans and Craig get around
to updating the build - I know their goal is the May 2022 ballot, so by 3/6
then...

Lloyd McKenzie (Feb 01 2022 at 21:21):
The table comes from the underlying resource.
Riki Merrick (Feb 01 2022 at 21:28):
From the underlying resource in each IG, not the generic V2-FHIR mapping IG though, correct? Meaning someone on the IG team needs to create the content...
Lloyd McKenzie (Feb 02 2022 at 00:24):
The mappings defined from the base resource are inherited by the IG. The IG can update the mappings but not remove them (though there's a tracker item to allow IGs to remove too).
Riki Merrick (Feb 02 2022 at 00:40):
thank you for the clarification :)
Craig Newman (Feb 02 2022 at 21:28):
The Google sheet at https://confluence.hl7.org/display/OO/2-To-FHIR+Project is definitely the latest and greatest map.
