Topic: FHIR Ontology
Geoff Low (Jan 24 2018 at 20:19):
Hi, wondering where this is going at the moment. We would like to build alignment to CDISC standards on top of this.
Lloyd McKenzie (Jan 24 2018 at 20:58):
@Grahame Grieve ?
Grahame Grieve (Jan 24 2018 at 22:26):
not going fast - @David Booth @Eric Prud'hommeaux @Michael van der Zel . What would alignment to CDISC mean?
David Booth (Jan 24 2018 at 22:45):
(Adding @Harold Solbrig .) @Geoff Low , glad to hear of your interest! The FHIR ontology download is available here: http://build.fhir.org/downloads.html or more specifically here: http://build.fhir.org/fhir.rdf.ttl.zip What do you think needs to be done for CDISC alignment? Should we discuss it on an upcoming teleconference?
Michael van der Zel (Jan 25 2018 at 19:52):
We have to check if the level of the CDISC ontology is the same as FHIR. There is a good document describing it here: https://www.cdisc.org/sites/default/files/members/standard/foundational/rdf/CDISC%20Standards%20RDF%20Reference%20Guide%201.0%20Final%202015-06-18.pdf
Michael van der Zel (Jan 25 2018 at 20:03):
It looks like it is a metadata spec, so it should align with the fhir rdf at the metamodel.
Michael van der Zel (Jan 25 2018 at 20:10):
Datatypes, a couple of Research specific Resources, like Trial/Study definition, Protocol and DataSet definition. Questionaire is also a bit mixed in, things like question asked to get this data.
Geoff Low (Jan 26 2018 at 12:07):
Alignment to CDISC at this point would refer allocation of a relationship between a CDISC element (eg VS.VSSTDAT - Date of Vital Signs Observation) and a resource/resource.attribute. At the moment we have this metadata in a spreadsheet (shudder), I know Frederik Malfait (the chief architect of the RDF work at CDISC) is building an ontology for the CDISC metadata. We're also covering C-CDA (specifically CCD) for legacy work, so using an ontology for alignment of that would also be interesting.
@Sam Hume - we should organise a call about this
