@Alexander Henket @Marten Smits , others: I need to develop (quite) some stuff for birthcare soon. Alignment with Medmij is desirable of course. What's wisdom? Go for STU3 or R4? Is it known when Medmij will move to R4?

There is no intention, talk, or incentive to go to R4. We are at the beginning of thinking about that. My gut feeling is that we skip R4 because we are too fresh into deploying STU3 to start rattling implementer cages at scale.
The FHIR Validation Council would be a perfect stage for the thought process

@Marc de Graauw To be honest, I don't get the question. You can use the current MedMij Profiles based on the ZIBs and for the things that are specific for birthcare you might need new ZIBs and then following that there will follow new FHIR Profiles.

@Michael van der Zel Not everything is or will be a ZIB. And for quite some blocks, we'll have to implement something now and propose the same as new ZIBS in parallel. So I'll go for STU3 in all of birthcare - until Medmij goes to R4, or R5, and then we'll see.

Initial text on the topic will be spent in the HL7 NL KT-ALF meeting coming Thursday. We plan on broader discussion during the HL7 WGM NL. At the very least in the FHIR NL Council/Validation Team, but we might entertain a broader discussion. Since you both are part of the Validation Team, you are both welcome to join in the discussion anyway
