Hi @Peter Jordan , I'm just following this thread for my own info, so I searched through the 10046 standard that I found here [https://www.health.govt.nz/system/files/documents/publications/hiso-10046-consumer-health-identity-standard-update-oct2017.pdf], and I couldn't find anything related to next of kin or family members or emergency contact info (other than a telecom type) or anything related to the idea of representing familial relationships. Can you point me more specifically?

@John Carter. For anything not covered in that HISO standard, or one of the 'common code tables' on the Ministry Web Site, I'd follow the FHIR specification. For GP2GP and other CDA-based projects, we use the V3/CDA vocabulary and participant class for next of kin, emergency contact, guardian, etc. - they should all translate to the corresponding FHIR Value Sets.
