Is there any mechanism for overwriting the descriptions in a value set as it is possible for the display ?

This is my case: I've a value set based on the http://terminology.hl7.org/CodeSystem/v3-ActStatus that is used to convey the status of the co-payment exceptions.
I'd like to show in my IG a description that explains what it means to use for example 'active' or 'completed' in that context beside the generic 'The Act can be performed or is being performed', and possibly in Italian..

What do you suggest to do ?

looking at the value set it seems not possible ... unless the designation element can be used in an extended way..

Are you wanting to provide just an alternate description for a specific code, or is this also a different type of designation use (i.e. not a "Synonym")? It seems to me that either way it should be able to be accommodated, possibly by adding the additional descriptions/designations in a code system supplement.

Hi Rob, my understanding is that I can use the CS supplement to translate and/or provide alternative designations/descriptions; and I used it for translating in Italian some FHIR code systems. But this is not - as far as I can understand - specific to a defined usage context (e.g value set).
