Topic: UUID Datatype?
Michel Rutten (Mar 13 2018 at 14:25):
Definitions.xml.zip / profiles-types.xml contains a definition of datatype UUID (derived from Uri, like Oid). However the documentation page about datatypes does not mention UUID at all:
http://hl7.org/fhir/datatypes.html
What is the status of this datatype?

UUID is a mess in R3. I think I have it all cleaned up in R4
Michel Rutten (Mar 14 2018 at 11:38):
OK, thanks. I noticed that Forge only supported Oid, but not Uuid. The .NET API provides a UUID PoCo class, generated from profiles-types.xml. But when I tried to apply UUID to a profile, the API generated unexpected validation warnings about incompatible type constraints. So apparently support for the UUID datatype is somewhat lacking. I guess I'll keep this disabled for DSTU3 and revisit in R4.
