Topic: Standard extensions
Richard Kavanagh (May 11 2016 at 11:49):
Many of the resources include standard extensions which is useful but I think it would be more useful to have standard "extension search paths" so specifiers choosing to use them can have standard restful interfaces as well. Is there a place to do that?
Grahame Grieve (May 11 2016 at 12:17):
several implementation guides define search parameters on extensions - these show how this is done.
Richard Kavanagh (May 11 2016 at 13:27):
Yes, but is there any desire to make these the same over different IGs?
Ewout Kramer (May 11 2016 at 14:04):
It seems to me to make sense to associate standard HL7 provided extensions with named search parameters that you'd use to search on them.
Grahame Grieve (May 11 2016 at 15:02):
sure if any comittee wants to do that, I can show them how to do it. pick the ones you think it makes sense, and make tasks to create them
Ewout Kramer (May 11 2016 at 15:05):
I think this should be part of the Quality Guidelines and maybe even mandatory?
Lloyd McKenzie (May 11 2016 at 15:07):
I've added it to the list. We can't make it mandatory - some extensions won't make sense to search on.
