Topic: Forge - Extensions, root element
Jonny Rylands (Mar 15 2016 at 10:23):
@Michel Rutten Noticed a change in Forge this morning, I suspect it is correct (and intentional)- the root element for an extension (path == "Extension") is no longer included in the differential, unless the properties of it have changed.
Michel Rutten (Mar 15 2016 at 10:35):
@Jonny Rylands indeed, although this is not an intentional change. Thank you for pointing this out. I'll discuss this with Ewout to verify if the current behavior is valid.
Jonny Rylands (Mar 15 2016 at 10:36):
Thanks.
Michel Rutten (Mar 15 2016 at 10:49):
@Jonny Rylands Ewout confirmed that in DSTU 2, the differential component must ALWAYS contain a root element definition. In DSTU 3 this is no longer required. I will update Forge to ensure that the root element definition is always serialized to the output Xml, regardless of any changes.
Jonny Rylands (Mar 15 2016 at 23:46):
That's interesting, thanks. Do you know when DSTU 3 is planned for?
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 15 2016 at 23:54):
DSTU 3 will go to ballot this August, with the hope to publish it before the end of 2016
Jonny Rylands (Mar 15 2016 at 23:56):
thanks, is there anywhere I can look to see the changes planned for DSTU 3?
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 16 2016 at 00:29):
You can look at the "current" build here: http://hl7-fhir.github.io/
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 16 2016 at 00:30):
Obviously there will be more changes coming between now and August.
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 16 2016 at 00:30):
You can look at the FHIR gForge tracker to see some of the proposed changes.
