Actually, just re-reading the original question - are you suggesting that there could be a GraphDefinition that acts as a 'template' for the graph instances? If so, I kinda like it in a couple of ways:

a) create an adhoc graph in clinFHIR Graph builder, then have a 'save as' that creates a GraphDefinition out of the resource instances (and references) that have been created, and

b) be able to create a new graph instance by selecting a GraphDefinition and having CF create the resource instances from the GraphDefinition connected appropriately...

sounds potentially useful...
