Hey, just to be 100% clear, MedicationStatement got dropped from USCore from 3 -> 3.1?
Keith Boone (Dec 12 2019 at 18:35):
That would be a surprise to me
Nick George (Dec 12 2019 at 18:39):
shows up here: https://www.hl7.org/fhir/us/core/STU3/profiles.html
but not here: https://www.hl7.org/fhir/us/core/profiles.html
Nick George (Dec 12 2019 at 18:39):
(Also not in the npm for 3.1)
Brett Marquard (Dec 12 2019 at 18:44):
Correct. MedicationStatement is dropped in the latest release -- see Medication list guidance for an extended discussion.
Nick George (Dec 12 2019 at 18:46):
great, thanks Brett
Michele Mottini (Feb 21 2020 at 21:14):
It is gone and it will stay gone? (just double checking, we are about to axe it from our R4 implementation)
Vassil Peytchev (Feb 21 2020 at 21:21):
Sounds like it is gone from the R4-based version, but the footnote at http://hl7.org/fhir/us/core/all-meds.html#fn:1 states:
It is anticipated that there will be further changes to the medication resources in future versions of FHIR which may lead to changes in our guidance for fetching patient medications in future versions of this guide.
Michele Mottini (Feb 21 2020 at 21:28):
Thanks @Vassil Peytchev - did not notice that. But as long as the changes are for future FHIR versions we should be OK axing it in R4 I guess
Brett Marquard (Feb 24 2020 at 10:28):
MedicationStatement as we know it is gone-gone. In latest continuous build there is a rename to MedicationUsage which may be considered after R5 is released.
Michele Mottini (Feb 24 2020 at 12:24):
Thanks Brett
