Is it still the case that SMART apps intended for real usage in an EHR need to target IE 10? (We are eager to start migrating to web components, but that requires at least IE 11).

I am pretty sure that presently the DLL that Epic uses to render web frames is based on the IE10 rendering engine...

Hey Paul, most (all?) health systems using Epic are using IE 11 to render web apps within our desktop "web frames".

That's great to hear! Does anyone know where other EHR vendors stand on this?

We did a Smart app on Epic which was tested on IE11.

Anyone know what the state of play is with Cerner regarding browser version support? https://fhir.cerner.com/smart/#browser-requirement suggests still IE10 :(

@Dennis Patterson do you know?

IE10 would be required for MPages integration, but outside of that, most of our clients are on IE11. Further advance of the platform is in the works, but no updates to share at this time
