Topic: IE 11 support is ending
Paul Lynch (Jun 02 2021 at 15:42):
The desktop IE 11 app support is ending in just over a year, on June 15, 2022. Also, the Angular framework (on which we are basing our SMART app) has deprecated support for IE 11 and it will removed in the next version. Microsoft 365 apps are dropping support for IE 11 in August. That in itself is not a problem for SMART, but I think the number of development frameworks that support IE 11 will rapidly dwindle if not even Microsoft supports it.
I am wondering what the expected timeframe is for EHR vendors to update their embedded browser component from IE 11 to Edge.

I wonder the same thing. I'm working on getting a SMART app integrated into a system for a pilot. IE11 is the default browser but I've been told modern versions of Chrome and Firefox are also available. Still, I made sure the app works with IE11 just in case...

Developers with apps running embedded in Epic's desktop application's IE control are encouraged to begin testing and preparing for migration to an upcoming Chromium-based browser. More information here: https://open.epic.com/Prototype/Hyperdrive

@Isaac Vetter is that using CefSharp?
