Hello there.
I have a question on profiling the trigger for a condition. Our use case is chronic wound management. Wounds can occur due to events which happen at a moment, like crashes, cuts, or surgical procedures, or due to events happening over a longer period, like wearing the worng footwear over a longer period of time. Now we have modeled the wound as a condition which needs to be treated. Now I am unsure how to model the trigger event. Does anyone have a good idea? Thanks in advance!

@Emma Jones mentioned the HL7 extension http://build.fhir.org/extension-condition-dueto.html that can be used to document what caused/triggered this Condition
@Jay Lyle shared https://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/fhir-skin-wound-ig/branches/master/index.html, which has an extension for the cause of the wound https://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/fhir-skin-wound-ig/branches/master/StructureDefinition-WoundTypeEtiologyExt.html.
In sum, this raises the question (TBD) whether WoundTypeEtiologyExt is redundant of condition-dueto. Jay will follow up with the project team
