Stream: implementers
Topic: openMHealth
Grahame Grieve (Dec 08 2016 at 20:46):
I'm meeting with the openMHealth team in UCSF Thursday afternoon Jan 12th. We'll be prototyping an openMHealth <--> FHIR bridge. If you're interested in joining me - please let me know (PM preferred)
Grahame Grieve (Dec 08 2016 at 20:46):
that is, in SF itself
Grahame Grieve (Dec 09 2016 at 05:03):
fyi: Background: FHIR and openMHealth have overlapping scopes: FHIR is interested in all healthcare data exchange, with a strong interest in social media, openMHealth is focused on exchanging health data for mobile platforms. openMHealth has a narrow focus, while FHIR has a more general focus - each has different pros and cons. Rather than competing, we'd rather collaborate. For now, that means at least showing how to interconvert data, and describe functionally equivalent FHIR and openMHealth interfaces
Meeting: test one or more prototype bridges between FHIR and openMHealth. There will be at least one bridge, an implementation of openMHealth that is a facade in front of a FHIR server. There may be others if anyone wants to bring them. The intent of the meeting is to use demonstrations and testing of the implementation(s) to drive discovery of the underlying issues, which will then set the agenda for further engagements. This meeting will use blood glucose measurements as an exemplar.
Meeting arrangements: UCSF campus, Thurs 12th Jan 1-4pm. To attend, email Simona Carine @ simona.carini@ucsf.edu

It would be pretty slick if we could simply extend an Observation resource with an mHealth schema. Add a Device and Patient reference, and maybe decorate with a LOINC or SNOMED code, as appropriate. Easy peasy.
Grahame Grieve (Dec 09 2016 at 05:12):
umm, you can already do those things in an Observation
Abbie Watson (Aug 17 2017 at 13:57):
Whatever happened with the mHealth/Observation integration?
Eric Haas (Aug 17 2017 at 15:10):
They are planning to be at the Connectathon. I know that they were recently funded but I don't have any other details beyond that.
Oliver Egger (Feb 07 2018 at 07:54):
just have seen this meeting notes: http://sites.ieee.org/sagroups-1752/files/2018/02/Feb-5-2018-1752.pdf which mentions mFHIR Implementation Profile targeted for October 2018
Jens Villadsen (Feb 07 2018 at 07:57):
I got tired when I saw this: https://github.com/openmhealth/shimmer/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=fhir
Eric Haas (Feb 08 2018 at 20:22):
We are kicking off an IG to integrate OpenMHealth with FHIR - stay tuned
