Hi @all! We're thinking about migrating some of FHIR's new Implementation Guide infrastructure to GitHub (something like 1 repository per IG, with automatic publishing). One concern: many folks in the FHIR community are new to git, and may need some handholding/support. Please reply here if you'd be willing to serve as a "FHIR git guide" and provide occasional git (or GitHub) support over zulip. If we can get about 6 volunteers, we'd be comfortable moving forward with this idea.

Hey @Josh Mandel I'd be happy to help when I'm on... I use git on a daily basis on nearly every project I'm on.

Happy to assist. Also, I recommend the two OReilly books on git. One is a good higher level view of alternative methods for managing projects with git, and one low level on how to use the git commands.

Could I recommend the ProGit book https://progit.org first, it is free, second I found it to be a fairly good description of some of theworkflows and commands, third it is available in a wide variety of formats (PDF, EPub, MOBI)

Thanks all! I appreciate your willingness to help. I'll bring this idea back to the FHIR Management Group with a thumbs up.

https://www.gitbook.com/ is a useful resource for publishing guides from Github repositories.
