Topic: default time zone?
Shamil Nizamov (Aug 09 2018 at 19:55):
The 3.1.0.1.6 Managing Return Content talks about a server's default timezone. What is that? In HL7v2 we had "the time zone defaults to that of the local time zone of the sender". Is that a similar concept or something specific to the REST API (i.e., the server assigns TZ when a resource is created)? It would be nice to state it clearly in the spec to avoid confusion.

I thought 'server's default timezone' was obvious?

Hmm... If we define something it means (to me) that we pick an option from a set of possible options. In this case, does server have other, none default, timezones? Imho, "server's timezone" or "local time zone of the server" is clearer.

well, I've seen a server where the default timezone of the server was not the server's own timezone. I don't know how common that is though
