our product has few categories for conditions that now we are trying to map to FHIR categories. wanted to consult regarding this mapping: (on the left is our categories, on the right it is FHIR categories)

Diagnosis = FHIR 'diagnosis-encounter'

Problem = FHIR 'problem-list'

Chief complaint, Reaction, Functional status, Cognitive status, Social history = FHIR 'health-concern'

Do you think this mapping makes sense?

all of the above are outputted under conditions domain in our product.

Depending on what you put in each category, those mappings make sense

for US Core

  1. Frankly in your mapping 'health concern (Additional health concerns from other stakeholders which are outside the provider’s problem list.
    )' is being treated as misc

  2. category is extensible - which means you are not limited to those three.

  3. 'sdoh' will be added in jan 22 ballot

Extensible means that you must map if a mapping is possible though - it doesn't mean you can use whatever codes you like. So if your concepts fit within the current definitions, you must map and use the defined codes.
