Is the global location number (https://www.gs1.org/gln) something that is widely used and/or is it something likely to be taken up in FHIR internationally? FYI - for the specific document GLN's in Healthcare refer to https://www.gs1.org/docs/healthcare/GLN_Healthcare_Imp_Guide.pdf

I have worked with GLN and i am in favour of having a location number, one that can be as specific as a corridor or a shelf, for using in location.identifier

if location.identifier is an identifier, is GLN appropriate there? isn't GLN a code set? (i know, there is a difference between codes and identifiers, but for these cases i don't know where the boundary is)
