Topic: UML diagrams for architects
Vadim Peretokin (Jul 05 2020 at 11:05):
I'm finding the UML diagrams in the spec more confusing than helpful. Is it just me or does anyone else feel the same way?

Grahame Grieve (Jul 05 2020 at 20:34):
this UML diagrams - I didn't understand them but I wasn't the target audience for them. Perhaps @Bo Dagnall wants to comment further?
Bo Dagnall (Jul 05 2020 at 21:52):
The UML diagrams are a little dated now. They were created early in the FHIR creation process. I think they still serve a purpose but they need to be updated. I’m happy to talk through their intent and purpose.
Michael Lawley (Jul 05 2020 at 21:53):
Looks like the page could do with a review:
- the comment about OperationOutcome is false
- why the duplicate operations?
<<GET>>read()
etc - confusing terminology - 2.16.6.2 talks about "FHIR Transactions" and is not talking about POST to
[base]
Bo Dagnall (Jul 05 2020 at 22:02):
@Grahame Grieve let’s talk about what you want done with these. I can find time to update them but we should agree on the purpose first.
Grahame Grieve (Jul 05 2020 at 23:50):
well, what are they achieving? I mean, honestly, I thought those particular diagrams existed to provide reassurance to architects that we had heard about UML, not because they actually conveyed any actual useful information
Frank Oemig (Jul 06 2020 at 09:32):
Well, according to the localized specs I have seen, they would have provided good support if considered
Grahame Grieve (Jul 06 2020 at 12:39):
can you expand on this - what would have provided good support? how?
