Topic: Transform to new FHIR version

Im trying to understand on a theoretical basis the transformation to a newer FHIR version. Currently the IG is based on STU3, but new projects demands R4. Some of my questions are; How much time will it take to transform, what should be my concerns regarding the topic?, How to involve your clients that are on a old version?, Can I find some good articles about it? thanks.

"How much time" depends on what resources you've got in the IG. In most cases you'll be able to use the existing conversion maps to convert examples and to give guidance on how to manually convert your profiles. Sometimes that change will be minimal, sometimes it'll be very complex or even non-transformable

One other thing to consider is that you will probably want to support both versions at least for a while, and provide a clear path for clients to move from the older version to the newer version.
