There seems to be some confusion about OpenId and the use of a nonce parameter as it relates to the SMART App Launch Framework. This open github issue is coming up on two years without a response, and I have already seen it happen at least once during a connectathon where some implementers were requiring a nonce, others were not, but almost every conversation I have seen on this is punctuated by uncertainty.
More broadly: exactly how does OpenId relate to SMART?
My apologies if this is already somewhere in the SMART spec.

Thank you, there was an old thread there that answered my question, but most people won't find the answer as it still is not reflected in the documentation.
