Topic: Resource.id vs internal reference id (attribute)

I am always getting tripped up by the two different types of id. Most recently, from this section: http://hl7.org/fhir/narrative.html#id
It seems to recommend the use of Resource.id but then goes on to talk about the id attribute and so I don't know which id is right for referencing a contained image from the narrative.

In the past, id was an attribute in both cases. This language could be clearer now - can you make a task to improve it? the src attribute refers to the value of the id element on the contained resource.
