Topic: RECIST data
Matthew Koch (Jun 23 2021 at 13:47):
What are opinions on the best way to represent something like RECIST data in a set of FHIR resources? (typically referred to as "response data")
David Pyke (Jun 23 2021 at 14:02):
Base information can be tracked via the Condition resource with specific data included in Observations and DiagnosticReports
Matthew Koch (Jun 23 2021 at 15:29):
So you're thinking that it's a combination of these resources linked together that would form the whole picture of a tumor's response overall? It would be great to see a fake example, I can try to mock one up...do you know of any out there in the wild?
David Pyke (Jun 23 2021 at 15:47):
Yeah, you're not going to have a single resource that can capture the wide array of information that is needed for a response. I'm not aware of a full example, but if you can create one, lots of people would love you for it.
Matthew Koch (Jun 23 2021 at 16:12):
@Lloyd McKenzie , any input as one of the resident FHIR gurus? Or @Hugh Glover ?
Grahame Grieve (Jun 23 2021 at 20:18):
what's RECIST data? (I admit this grabbed my attention because I misread the title when scanning topics)
David Pyke (Jun 23 2021 at 20:18):
Cancer tumour treatment progression

Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST)
Grahame Grieve (Jun 23 2021 at 20:20):
thanks. well, i think that we'd agree with @David Pyke
Brendan Keeler (Jun 24 2021 at 16:57):
They need to work on a better acronym
David Pyke (Jun 24 2021 at 17:09):
Response Assessment Criteria in Solid Tumors?
Lloyd McKenzie (Jun 25 2021 at 02:24):
@May Terry may know if mCODE has done any work in this space
Matthew Koch (Jun 30 2021 at 13:15):
Agreed that the acronym could use some work....thanks to all the responses!
