hi, I need to create a profile for 'Pregnancy length' parameter using the Observation resource. Meaning of this parameter is the Length of the pregnancy period when baby was born. It is usually measured in weeks and days. ( eg: 36 weeks and 4 days) . In my profile how can I specify the unit of measurment as weeks and days ?

A similar question was discussed here: https://chat.fhir.org/#narrow/stream/179202-terminology/topic/Gestational.20Age. Perhaps that topic might help you.

You can't. You'd need to express it as days - and leave it to the rendering system to convert the total days to weeks + days

Yes, (baby's) gestational age should be left to the UI -- the units in days gives the UI the flexibility to display it as required (e.g. it could switch to months or weeks after the baby, e.g. neonate, has been in the NICU for multiple months)
