Is there a way to capture the details of a payment such as the type of payment (cash, check, cc, eft), type of credit card (visa, mastercard, etc.), and payment reference number (cc auth, check number)? We are representing a payment that needs to be posted to the EHR using the PaymentReconciliation resource, but didn't see these fields.

The Financial Management Work Group is working on exactly this. They haven't determined whether to address by creating an additional resource for the payment, then using the PaymentReconciliation to allocate the payment to the account and/or account entries or whether to expand the purpose and fields of the PaymentReconciliation.
