Hi there,
coming out with my first entry here…
From our clinical System we get 3 types of identifiers:
- usual identifier, used in the Hospital
- secondary identifier for external use, same as above with some prefix
- temporary identifier, assigned by emergency Department
I was wondering, where to put the Information given above. My Suggestion would be via the identifier.type:text … Would that be correct this way?

For Identifier.type, using text for this is possible. But if you are able to use a code rather than text (creating the codes if needed) that would likely be preferable.

In general, text is for display to humans but is unconstrained and not generally useful for computation.
