Satya Prakash Itharaj (Oct 13 2020 at 09:13):
Hello Gurus, Could someone suggest under which resource should I categorize a "Patient Transport" from Location 1 to Location 2 ? Do we have a relevant supporting resource in R4 ? Please suggest.
Thanks
Jose Costa Teixeira (Oct 13 2020 at 09:27):
There are discussions to create a new resource Transport. But nothing in R4

@Michelle (Moseman) Miller any ideas?

Thanks @Kumar Satyam
I see Encounter.serviceType is more apt in this case, because of the below under Scope and Usage:
"During the encounter the patient may move from practitioner to practitioner and location to location."

Hello All,
Please, could someone help me with an "Encounter" Resource example for "location to location" transfer ?
Thanks,
Satya

To build on what @Jose Costa Teixeira said, there is a proposal/discussion within Patient Admin to create a new resource. For more information, see https://confluence.hl7.org/display/PA/Encounter+History+and+Movements. CC: @Brian Postlethwaite

This topic has been a focus within IHE for the past couple of years. Routine Interfacility Patient Transport https://www.ihe.net/uploadedFiles/Documents/PCC/IHE_PCC_Suppl_RIPT.pdf
Based on the model from NEMSIS by an EMT @ANDREA FOURQUET
Available today in FHIR and CDA. Currently being upgraded to FHIR R4
