The Observation identifier definition states: A unique identifier for the simple observation instance. What is "simple" trying to describe here? Is there such a thing as a "complex" observation then, and that would have a different identifier?

that's probabyl meant to be 'single' not 'simple' - but simple is not helpful - ignore it
