Topic: Looking for e-Patient Dave :-)
Jay Gauthier (May 29 2021 at 20:08):
I'm cooking up an idea for a patient portal that is NOT associated with a particular healthcare provider. It would be a free personal health record app and I'm envisioning FHIR as the lingua franca. Does anyone know of an existing project like this, for me to latch on to? A little birdie mentioned "e-Patient Dave", are you out there?

@Jay Gauthier maybe have a loot at https://www.midata.coop/en/home/? they have a FHIR interface for the platform @François von Kaenel can you provide you with more information if you are interested

I also found a pair of companies offering software platforms for healthcare providers to build their ePatient portals - Universe mHealth and Bridge Patient Portal. I'll reach out to them. This is on the right track, just with an angle of having it centered around the patient themselves with NO specific healthcare provider underwriting the app itself.

@Oliver Egger This is EXACTLY one of the use cases I had envisioned. A person owns and manages their health data and can anonymously contribute to research of their choosing. Thanks for the tip.

This is commonly known as a PHR. OneRecord, PicnicHealth, Ciitizen, all examples today
