It seems from reading prior posts that the prevailing choice is to use DiagnosticReport for Lab tests. Would it be ok to use Observation? If not, why? Thx.

The data would absolutely be in Observations. DiagnosticReport is the collector that groups everything together. There's an example in the spec to look at.
