Query on usage - if I have details of an imaging study (modality, bodySite) but not a full DICOM record is ImagingStudy still okay to use? Say as a contained resource referred to in a DiagnosticReport?

What are you trying to capture in the ImagingStudy? Aren't modality and bodysite already covered in the associated Procedure? An ImagingStudy must have at least a study UID in an ImagingStudy. (There are a couple of other fields that are manditory but the min cardinality for those will be changing to zero.)
