I am not sure if this is more suited to #research or another channel, so putting it here given this gets the most foot traffic.

In terms of clinical research, the most well used standard today is the IHE RPE (well-used indicating almost exclusively Epic sites) for synchronizing study details, enrolled patients, and billing calendar information.

In FHIR, ResearchStudy and associated linked resources correspond to this standard. Has there been any work in terms of definitive mapping or gap analysis between the two standards?

I expect the analysis would be done by BR&R and IHE QRPH in some way. As far as I'm aware, there isn't a full gap analysis available. Brendan, if you're interested in conducting this analysis, I would suggest approaching the BR&R and IHE QRPH (Quality, Research, and Public Health) with the proposal, and these groups might be able to help put some resources behind it.

Thanks Amit. Silly question, but what's the BR&R?
