By "HL7 information" do you mean v2? (HL7 encompasses v2, v3, CDA, FHIR and a bunch of other things). @Brian Postlethwaite Why aren't there v2 mappings on Location - presume it should map to LOC?

I don't think I've ever seen the LOC segment used. The V2-to-FHIR project does have a mapping for the PL data type to Location (although it gets a bit complicate because it creates a series of Locations for the bed, room, facility, etc). I second Craig's comments - I've only ever seen location in HL7v2 be sent in the context of something else (e.g. PV1, FT1, etc.) using the PL data type.

Thanks @Craig Newman and @Cooper Thompson for sharing your views. I guess that i can map with PL or LOC segement, whatever is being used in the system. Is that right?
