This seems like an easy question, which value of category should be used for flags raised by devices noticing problems with patients? Or is this an abuse of the Flag resource and there is a better way? https://www.hl7.org/fhir/valueset-flag-category.html doesn't have device as a category, but it does have device as an author.

Flag tends to be for long-term things (pregnant, allergic to latex, use easy-open caps). A device that wants to send out an alert would typically do so as an Observation

This is about interpretation of a device value. Say a patient's blood pressure is < 85/35 we want to flag that this patient is hypotensive. There is certainly an observation associated with it, but it doesn't capture the interpretation.

Ok, I spent some more time looking at Observation and see what you are getting at. I can create a derived Observation with Observation.related pointing to the source.
