Topic: FHIR restful service url with FHIR version
jassy (Apr 07 2017 at 16:23):
I am trying to confirm that to be compliant with FHIR, the FHIR version is required to be part of a FHIR restful service url, e.g. GET http://fhirtest.uhn.ca/baseDstu3/ExplanationOfBenefit, which has "stu3" presented. Is there a doc of this requirement that I can refer to?
Michele Mottini (Apr 07 2017 at 16:29):
No, this is not a requirement
jassy (Apr 07 2017 at 16:56):
Thanks.
Grahame Grieve (Apr 07 2017 at 20:07):
it is a suggestion that has some good ideas behind it
jassy (Apr 07 2017 at 21:11):
Yes, understood the benefit of doing that. But also quite often it comes across to the point of persuading people to adopt those new ideas and practices, and if it is not required, sometimes it could be hard to press on for the time being :-)

@Jassy yes as @Grahame Grieve states these are "best practices". Maybe we could start a new page for FHIR on some best practices, thoughts?
