Topic: EHR support for FHIR
Lauren Marshall (Nov 01 2018 at 16:52):
Hi all,
I work for the Michigan Center for Effective IT Adoption (M-CEITA) and am doing some research into EHR readiness/compatibility with FHIR. I am not sure if this is the correct place to get answers, but it was suggested I use this resource; please feel free to re-direct if needed. As a Client Services Manager, I help clinicians and health systems pursue Meaningful Use/Interoperability, specifically in regards to the Medicaid incentive program. I am compiling a resource for my clients to use regarding their EHRs ability to use FHIR to help meet Meaningful Use measures, and since my clients use a variety of EHR products, I'm trying to cast a wide net while I research. If you work for, or know of a contact at, an EHR vendor and can help provide information, please message me. I am interested in the following information:
1) Is your CEHRT product FHIR compliant?
a. If yes, are multiple products available?
i.Which ones are FHIR compliant?
b.If no, are you in the process of becoming FHIR compliant?
2) Is anyone currently using FHIR to access your data?
It may be best to have a conversation offline, but any assistance is much appreciated. Thank you for your time, Lauren

I went through all the MU3 API access certified systems docs to check for FHIR support - results at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1C9faN7Ne0DIgrmXbMVBcff9KTotuejIEbpr4ZPE3tUE/edit?usp=sharing

Note also that FHIR support is half of the story - authentication, and in particular supporting SMART, is critical

Cerner's Ignite for Millennium solution is CEHRT certified for patient access. We do have current consumers.

Hey @Lauren! Just to document here what we'd talked about earlier, Epic is CEHRT certified for patient access (using SMART). The list of our customers who currently have FHIR endpoints up is available at open.epic.

@Lauren Marshall and @Michele Mottini , T-System's EV product certified for MU3 API access using FHIR as well. You can see more about it at http://tsystem.com/pages/ed-insights/meaningful_use.php and http://api.tsystem.com/. We do have customers using the API to access data.

Ah great, thanks @Chuck Feltner
Michele Mottini (Nov 07 2018 at 14:41):
Is there a way we can test / connect our PHR app?
Chuck Feltner (Nov 07 2018 at 19:40):
@Michele Mottini Yes, we can use on of our sandboxes listed at http://api.tsystem.com/sandboxes.html.
Michele Mottini (Nov 07 2018 at 20:43):
I updated the spreadsheet adding T-System
