Topic: DiagnosticOrder
Grahame Grieve (Jan 02 2017 at 17:47):
I am reviewing the differences between DiagnosticOrder in R2 and DiagnosticRequest in R3. What happened to specimen, and to body site?
Grahame Grieve (Jan 02 2017 at 17:48):
also, I think that the reduction in status codes is problematic. In particular, how can it not be important to know whether a request was cancelled from the ordering side, or refused from the ordered side?

@Rob Hausam @Eric Haas @Lloyd McKenzie comments requested
Grahame Grieve (Jan 02 2017 at 18:02):
and what happened to the information about whether a request is accepted?
Lloyd McKenzie (Jan 02 2017 at 18:24):
@Grahame Grieve With the workflow changes, the status of a request/order represents only the status of the authorization as determined by the placing system. It does not reflect the progress of the workflow. Workflow progress is always managed using Task. (The reason being that the same request/order can be associated with multiple workflows - an order might be rejected by one lab, cancelled at another lab and fulfilled by a third - yet it's still the same requisition.)
Lloyd McKenzie (Jan 02 2017 at 18:25):
Also, it's problematic for an order (which might have a digitial signature) to be updated by the filling system to reflect its agreement to say "accepted", "in progress", etc.
Grahame Grieve (Jan 02 2017 at 18:45):
ok, I can see that makes sense. That just leaves specimen and body site...
Eric Haas (Jan 02 2017 at 21:58):
specimen is going back in. #10589, agree on bodysite made a tracker [#12505]
Grahame Grieve (Jan 02 2017 at 22:11):
