Topic: Consent for receiving communication

We have the ability for a patient to opt in or opt out of receiving cellphone and/or email communication. One use case is appointment reminders. Is it appropriate to use the Consent resource to retrieving this information? If not, what resource is more appropriate (if any)?

Consent resource could do this. Minimally you define a policy (text explaining what YES means). The Consent can then record if the patient indicates YES vs NO. That is used by business logic to mediate the communications.

We have a similar use case and are also planning on using the consent resource. If you already progressed on the do you have an example of the implementation. Otherwise, do you already have thought on what category code you are planning to use?
