This is currently hardcoded to xhtml. In our use-cases markdown would me much easier. Are there any plans to also enable markdown? Using xhtml in 2020 feels weird.

had CommonMark existed early enough, we would not be using xhtml at all. :-(

on the other hand, the preponderance of CDA pushes towards Composition.section.text to xhtml anywhere, and if you pay attention to the css details, you'll see that there's a definitely lineage from CDA structured text
