Topic: Claims without EOB
Priscilla Hakel (Apr 14 2021 at 16:58):
In the state of MN, there is a rule to protect Patient privacy where we adjudicated Claims that our state prohibited to have patient EOB generated and send to the Patient. In this Use Case, are we required to produce a digital EOB so that Patient can search for this kind of Claims? Or is there another path for the Patient to retrieve this kind of Claims from Patient Access API?

@Priscilla Hakel In general, all HIPAA and state laws governing provisioning of EOBs from a payer's portal or API also apply to a payer provisioning EOBs via the Patient Access API. We advise you consult your legal department for confirmation. @Paul Knapp @MaryKay McDaniel @Robert Dieterle @Viet Nguyen @Vanessa Candelora @Mark Roberts @Amol Vyas
