Hi all,
We want to use the CareTeam resource. It has an element CareTeam.participant.member which have references Practitioner, PractitionerRole, RelatedPerson, Patient, Organization and CareTeam along with these resources we suggest to add Group resource as a reference.
Thank you

you'll have to make a gForge task for this

Group can't act as a collective

view this post on Zulip Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 25 2018 at 15:09):

Groups are passive and can't have responsibility. E.g. "males between ages of 30 and 45" or "all people within a 10 mile radius of Toefield" or "All participants in this clinical study". If you want a collection of people with collective responsibility, you use Organization.

You can do things to a group - education campaign, spraying a flock of chickens. But a Group can't actually "do" anything itself. That's distinct from CareTeam which acts as a specialized type of Organization in terms of its ability to take on responsibility.

Thank you @Lloyd McKenzie
In US, a "group" can also bill instead of individual practitioner.

Then you're not using Group correctly - you should be using Organization

Group is not a practice group

view this post on Zulip Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 27 2018 at 05:45):

Group is for public health, clinical research and similar situations where you want to say "females between 30 and 45 with diabetes" or something like that.

"Represents a defined collection of entities that may be discussed or acted upon collectively but which are not expected to act collectively, and are not formally or legally recognized; i.e. a collection of entities that isn't an Organization."

Billing would be "acting collectively"

view this post on Zulip Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 27 2018 at 05:46):

Organization is not limited to "legal" entities - it's any group of people that act collectively.
